Security level in using windows authentication

What is the security that is used when logging in using windows authentication over the internet? I don't want people sending their domain account info in clear text.

Well if you HTTPS then that is encrypted, if you dont use HTTPS then plain text it is. Please see the following knowledge base article on how to setup ssl for the web server.
