I'm running ScreenConnect version 2.3.2058.4321 on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit, using IE 8.0.7601.17514.

I keep getting an error message with this text:

The server method 'GetHostSessionInfo' failed.

I get this message randomly. Sometimes, all I have to do is navigate to my screenconnect URL and the error will appear. Most often, it appears when I try to join a session (any type of session). I can join the session, but I'll get this error message every time. Also, the clients seem to be taking a very long time to connect - sometimes several minutes.

Once connected, the session seems to work fine.

Note this behavior just started when I upgrade to the latest version.

I've uninstalled SC, rebooted, and reinstalled to make sure I didn't have troubles with the install or update. That didn't help.

I too have seen this with chrome. It only happens to me though just when navigating away from the web console after it has sit idle.

For anyone else with this issue, my fix was this:

Check the registry for a key here:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

If you find a DWORD value named Recieve Timeout then delete it. Of course, you should back up your registry first before doing this.

I had no issues until I made some tweaks to my Internet Explorer settings. After I did that, the Recieve Timeout value was rebuilt, and I once again received the same error. I deleted the registry key and the error went away.

2.4 should fix this to work even when the ReceiveTimeout is specified.

Cool! I'll be sure to download once 2.4 moves to the Stable Release state.
