We are currently evaluating Screen Connect as a possible replacement for Go To Assist. We recognize that Screen Connect is very powerful, flexible, and customizable. However, I am having trouble finding how I can embed a link in a personal email such as this.

We need to make things as simple as possible for our clients to connect to our support team. The reason why Go To Assist works so well for us is we can send them a link to click on. While Screen Connect offers that ability, it does not allow me to personalize the email before it is sent. This is a problem for us.

Is there a way we can create a link and then copy/paste it into a more personal email?

Thanks,

Aaron

I think we may provide this out-of-the-box .. and sneak it into 2.3.

Jake,

Thanks for your reply, but I am a little confused. Are you saying that this functionality is planned for the next release of 2.3? Or are you saying it can be achieve with a tweak of my current system (2.3.1906.4262)?

It would be great if I could report to my manager that this feature is on the development road map for an upcoming release. It really is an important feature for us as we are so use to the ease of creating a link in Go To Assist. If it is on the road map, I'm sure my manager will take that into consideration as we continue to evaluate your software.

Thanks,

Aaron

Below is an example of the Go To Assist interface if you were curious.

Here are the steps we take:

1) OPTIONAL - Enter in a customer name (this displays on the viewer, which is helpful if you have multiple open)
2) Click "Create Code"
3) Click "Copy Quick URL" --> Adds URL to clipboard
4) Paste into email or chat window

We'll get it into the next build of 2.3. I was going to give you a way to implement it, but this feature has been on our plate for a long time, and I finally came up with a good way to implement it out-of-the-box

Thanks Jake. Our evaluation is for another 25 days. Will that be long enough to see the addition or is it possible to get an extension to our trial?

Oh for sure, these guys put out new release builds about every week, so I would be surprised if you didn't see this by next week.

Thanks for adding this jake, but one question. Not all users have a rich mail client installed. If we select that option we get error without mail client installed. Maybe a more simple solution is that you leave the options for email there and just have a small section under email sessions that has a textbox populated with the session so you can just copy it....example below:

y

In fact now that I think about it, it would be really slick to have it listed for all session types. This way if user X is having trouble clicking the join button or you want to have a colleague join a session you can just copy it from any session and email or paste it in a chat transcript.

Was just browsing the forums, trying to glean as much info as possible. Came across this thread and was wondering if this was implemented, as we're now in 2.4. I didn't see how to do this.

What are you looking for specifically? We did provide a way to launch via a rich client, but that's it.

It would be nice to provide the direct link to the session so we can enter it in any mail clients, Outlook web app for instance, or send it via a 3rd party chat program.

I'd like to be able to enter the URL for a specific unattended system into my PCrepairTracker software. A URL specific to that computer and valid from my main box from which I do my remote support.
