Running newest version of sun's java jre. This is a debian machine if it matters.

Once I click join session it shows up. It all looks good but it just sits there and says "negotiating" for a few, then "connecting" for a few and back and forth. Never actually connecting.

Successfully have this working on other nix machines with same JRE with no issues.

No firewall either in case you'd be wondering.

Thanks
Bruce

What version of ScreenConnect? Is this the host client or guest client? Is the other end connected?

Newest version 2.2.1634.4170, coworker just updated earlier today. It is the guest client. I've tried it with the other end connected and not connected. same thing.
Thanks
Bruce

Ok, I'm guessing it's related to the rsa cipher we're now using.

What would make that different from the other 2 linux machines I have here that connect right up? Is there something I need to do on my end?

Thanks

Are you using OpenJDK or the Sun JRE?

We started using RSA ciphers with 2.2. OpenJDK doesn't seem to support it correctly. On our test machine it tries to use the Sun provider and receives a security exception. I'm a bit curious as to what happens on without the Sun JRE installed at all.

Same thing, Sun's Java JRE... have not tried OpenJDK yet... TheEd1tor seems to have better luck than me, I've tried several different machines with different linux flavors and no go.. the one that gets the closest is our RedHat server that actually does connect, but the screen is black, although you can move and issue mouse commands to the remote machine... the funny thing is, when you reverse screen share the remote can see the host's screen fine.

We narrowed the issue with OpenJDK down to security assertions for sun.security.* are failing. They aren't supposed to, and it looks like fixes have been integrated somewhere (jdk7?) but apparently haven't made it into the wild.

Anything with a Sun JRE is completely different, and if you're having issues with black screens, that's also completely different. There are absolutely no known issues there. Are you sure you're using a Sun JRE? What version of ScreenConnect are you using? Try the latest.
