One of the features that I quite liked about LogMeIn was the ability to know when updates were pending on a system. I know that Central/Pro would have allowed me to push those updates but, for my residentials, you don't push updates. It is, however, good to know when they're not keeping up with them.

It would be a great boon to SC if it could provide some level of system information without ever opening a window or by just mousing over a 3rd panel button:

Obviously, I'd be most overjoyed if SC could give me the same handy-dandy info that LMI offers (pending updates) but that's another matter.

This is a nice idea. To take it a step further, it would be really nice if we could customize what system information/alerts/events we wanted to monitor and either be notified of certain events or just click some kind of "retrieve status" button that queries the remote host and then returns our pre-configured information.

Not a high priority compared to session-sharing, but it would be very convenient when taking care of 100s of disparate client machines.

+1 for this. This would be a huge feature. :)

Something like this might be possible but would probably take a fair amount of design and planning to handle the enchantment request that would undoubtedly follow. I will get it submitted but I would guess we would really look hard at this after our 2.6 release.

In the meantime, Jeff, what about if there was some kind of indicator of when the client-side was running an older version of SC? So that we'd -know- they needed an update?

Jeff, I'm not sure I'd know how to handle an "enchantment request"

pomptcare that same request came in via another post http://forum.screenconne...r-of-needed-update.aspx
The suggestion Jake made has been entered and will certainly be considered.

Evidently I need a better spell check combined with a "wrong word dummy" check. Of course considering how software development works sometimes, enchantment might have been a Freudian slip.
