Hi There,

We are running a trial of screen connect with a view to making it our default remote support client for our global workforce. The application works well on our windows devices however trying to manage mobile devices does not seem to work.

We have a basic setup whereby screen connect is installed on a windows 7 PC and the Iphone (Iphone 4s running IOS5) is connecting over wi-fi. The iphone has the screen connect application installed from the app store.

The device connects to the website okay, but when I attempt to join a session the "Joining your session.." message is displayed and the device never connects. I have tried the different join options but the same thing happens. We also have an Android device and the exact same issue occurs.

Any ideas as to where to start troubleshooting this issue would be great. The application looks promising but we need a method to manage these devices remotely.

Thanks

Ralphw

Just to report we have the same issue (so it's not your set-up) on version 2.3.2

ScreenConnect mobile support is currently focused on allowing technicians to use their mobile devices to support their customer’s computers or servers. We currently support both Android and iOS and are looking at other operating systems now.

We would love to introduce the ability to remote into mobile devices, unfortunately iOS and Android do not allow you to view and/or control their devices remotely. Some remote support companies provide the ability to chat, pull information about the device, and transfer files with Android and iOS but they cannot view or control the screen. A few companies go as far as to allude to this capability but then in the fine print they say if the software is installed by the manufacturer, jail broken, or rooted. We are currently looking at Windows 8 and Windows 7 mobile to see what is possible so maybe with one or both of those we will have a mobile app for clients in the near future. We are considering a guest client that has the basic capability that others provide but many of this community via email or phone have said you wouldn’t find that very useful, if you think we should release a basic application that provides the above mentioned functionality please let us know we would enjoy hearing your thoughts?

And if the position with Android or iOS changes we will certainly release an app for those devices as well.

And we will be releasing a few new web pages soon that speak to compatibility and we will touch on the host versus guest use of our the application.
