Our organization mainly supports Windows machines and we seem to have no problem so far with computers showing their correct names in the list of machines we can connect to. However, the few Macs that we have added show up in our list as: dyn-128.104.XXX.XXX depending on their IP addresses. They're bound with a computer name to our Active Directory so we aren't sure why the Macs are listed as their IP address instead of their computer name. Does anyone know how to get a Mac's computer name to show up in the list instead of the dyn-IP address?

Do you see the Active directory name correctly under 'Machine:' or is this also showing the dynamic ip name?

Also, I'd check what the actual Mac's showing in System Preferences, Sharing, Computer Name: & the Local Hostname

We have two clients that bind to an Active Directory server and we see the just the shorter computer name in the list, but the complete domain/machine under Machine:
