We recently updated security on our ScreenConnect server. One of the things we did was to put ScreenConnect on a standalone server in our DMZ. Now instead of showing the WAN IP address for the network address, all the clients show the LAN address of the DMZ router. How does "Network Address" get its number? I thought it just ran a scan to see what the address was. We would like to change this as we separate host groups based on that number. Any help is appreciated.

Basically, we pull this value from the socket but there's a lot of ways it could be wrong/lying to us.

We would love to do more to get a more accurate value, but there is a patent preventing us from doing so. This thread goes into more details.

W.O.W.

The Legal system...patents...stupidity is amazing.

I was hoping to review the patent that was causing the problem but I didn't see any links to what patent they were referring to. Is there any additional details...considering the lifespan of a patent is only 20 years? :)
