I had the same problem on a Windows machine about a week ago, which I resolved by using Revo Uninstaller, and then editing the registry to remove remains of the program.
The problem seems to be created by removing an installation and not answering the "end session & delete" question. I can now install the 'support' quick connect function, which appears to work okay, but when I disconnect from that, and then try to install from the 'access' segment of the program, it appears to install but then closes and disappears! :-(

You'll need to remove the contents of the /opt/screenconnect-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/ folder and then download/reinstall the client to achieve the same thing you did with Windows (generate a new session ID). You can also run the script we have posted on our docs site here:
