I got the trial. A day and a headache later I still cannot seem to figure out what is blocking it. It will not send email invites and I get the warning that it is not browsable. Installed on a fresh computer with no security software and still nothing. Did the port forwarding on my router. Any help would be appreciated.

In my ScreenConnect installation the Web Server Check fails 100% of the time, yet my support site is completely browsable. You getting errors in regards to the email issue? Also what's the web address of your support site? Can you get to it from an internet connection from another location?

I get no error message about emails at all. Nada. But when I check my email, which is where I sent the session request, there is nothing there.

I go to another computer on my network, type in any of the 3 link possibilities and it brings me to the login screen where I would enter my info to administer. I do not see anywhere for a guest to log in.

This is one of the links

Brian,

Let's try to use an external address to access your machine. When you go to the browser URL check on the Administration page, does it have listed any URLs that work for you? Ones with external IPs? If you use those, the Browser URL Check shouldn't complain. But none of of can access the http://recovery-pc:8040/ link. That URL is only valid on your own network.

Jake,

The two with my external ip both work and do not give me a warning. I still cannot send out email. netstat shows both 8040 and 8041 listening and I have it forwarded through my firewall on my router. When I go to those urls I get the admin signin page. Even when I change it to host in the URL itself.

I have tried sending session invites to both my yahoo and gmail accounts and get nothing in my inbox and no errors from SC.

If the create session of an email invite does not give an error, you were able to communicate successfully with the SMTP server on the other side. So it's really an issue of what the server did with your mail!

I guess there may have been some other way the configuration is messed up though. What option are you using to send mail? Send direct? Or through your own SMTP relay?

The external IP links both time out when trying to send email. That did not happen before. The "send From Address" would be the reply email I want them to see correct?

Yes, I am still working on this. This is why I got a headache the other day. I refuse to give up. I created an install package which I installed on another pc on my network. It works that way. Still not able to send out emails or connect in the other ways.

All security software is turned off, IE9 screen filter had to be turned off to download the installer.

It turns out that I had a program I was testing to revert a computer back to previous settings at reboot. Kinda forgot about that but at least I know it works. Can now send email session requests. Now on to customization.
