Android never connects?

We're testing SC for our managed service helpdesk.

Have set it up on my laptop, opened firewall ports, all checks green.

Trying to connect using public URL from an AT&T Samsung Infuse with Screenconnect app installed from the store.

The phone never connects to the desktop session, although I can connect from other Windows desktops outside the firewall.

"Try another method" doesn't work either.

Known issue? Doing something wrong?

The android client is only for hosting sessions. In other words you can see a desktop from the phone. It seems to look like you are trying to do it the other way around. Give support a call in the morning as they will help you even with the trial to get things working.
