I somewhat touched on this is an earlier post, but I'm looking for suggestions about this.

I have a client using FireFox 5.0 and for whatever reason it's using option 2 to download the Elsinore.ScreenConnect.GuestClient.exe file.

The client's anti-virus is Comodo and it immediately isolates the file (essentially like Norton's Quarantine but there's no whitelist service that I know of) and make it's unusable.

One of its complaints in the log is that the Elsinore.ScreenConnect.GuestClient.exe file is unsigned.

I assume this is auto-generated per-client session?

I wonder if it were possible to sign it dynamically if the Norton and Comodo and other anti-virus complaints would go away?

Anyone have an insight here?

If so, is there any way to sign the exe dynamically if we provided a code-signing certificate and key on the server?

Asking hypothetically here, right now, but would it solve any of these anti-virus quarantining problems?

Any other suggestions for the Comodo Isolation problem?

Thanks in advance!

I believe the prerelease(read: BETA) builds are not signed by their code signing certificate. Also those builds aren't submitted to AV whitelists. You need to be running a "stable" build for it to be signed and whitelisted by AV vendors. What version are you running?

I thought of that as well, but I'm running 2.3.2005.4303 which is listed as stable.

Thanks for the reply though!

well that just went stable a few days ago, so it may take a bit to trickle down the pipe at comodo.

Which is definitely possible, but the error it was reporting was lack of trust, especially since it wasn't signed.

Do you know if Elsinore.ScreenConnect.GuestClient.exe is dynamically created for each client request?

Pretty sure this uses a static EXE but just passes variables onto it. Jake will chime on this eventually here or you can call their support line. They love helping new potential customers with anything!
