Hi first of all, I'm demoing the product. Items I'd like to see improved upon that are in Simple-Help. I see features in this product not available in Simple-Help, yet. The GUI is a little clunky which will improve over time, I get that....

1- Security Elevation (ability to elevate before using a toolbox item? thus sitting waiting for Guest to press a key)
2- Better "Always-on" agent deployment
3- Ability to edit or add a name for "unattended" PC's. We have hundreds of PC's located in folders by company name eg. USA>Ohio>CustomerA>frankpc
4- Ability to remove "unattended" PC's by click of button
5- Search for PC's based on #3

More info on #2, in Simple-Help, you can deploy an agent or they call it, "Persistent Gateway", and name it what ever you want before deploying or default the PC name and place in a folder in a "tree" view.

Most of these are already built into screenconnect
1. if on windows vista and 7 and not an admin elevation will be required
2. unattended agent deployment is bullet proof for us
3. when you create unattended installer you create a name, you can also create groups, with the 2.4 version coming very shortly you can easily rename them
4. coming very shortly in 2.4 version
5. there has been a search box in the top right since 2.2 i think so you can very easily filter connections.

Thank you for the feedback. We use N-Able's NCentral and realize how it's remote capabilities were poor thus trying LogMein, GotoAssist, Simple-Help...and now reviewing ScreenConnect. Hopefully, my feedback is constructive.

I'd like to see the ability to elevate admin remotely by entering a username/pass. The unattended deployment seems clunky - rather just tick a button/box and it's done. Notification of success or fail...

Elevate remotely works fine, run a session on a windows 7 box yourself that is not an admin. Then force a ctrl+alt+del and you will see a popup box asking for credentials on the remote machine. You as the support tech could enter that info in or the user could.

As far as clunky unattended deployment, I know there are a few requests out there to have it built into the host window a simple button to install the unattended and this seems easy enough, hopefully it's functionality we will get soon.

One thing about this product you will notice if you read previous posts and look at release history is that they do listen to what we want and implement it in a very timely fashion.

I just tested simplehelp just now on one of my vms, wow it sucks. I hate software that is ran on java, I've always thought javaw is so slow, and it is. Just a resource hog and full blown java programs are like filemaker just not that great, at least for me.

i like clean code like screenconnect, gurus!

Thanks everyone for jumping in and helping to answer some of jfinley's questions. As we are getting close to 2.4 release and starting 2.5 I wanted to comment on a few things:

We have made a lot of changes to 2.4 that address a lot of this and I realize that sometimes new customers don't realize that you can modify our unattended connections to be whatever name you want and then auto filter via the manage session option. We need to do a better job of providing intuitive functionality in a few areas or at minimum links over to supporting documentation. We will try to fix some of those things going forward.

The big item I saw out of this list was ability to better manage unattended sessions and deploy quickly. I think the changes in 2.4 help with this a lot but I will make sure the request to send unattended connections from the Host Client is submitted and reviewed.
