Upon connection to an unattended client, screen stays black or I login and screen freezes at 'welcome'.

Installed all Windows Updates on the server thinking I was just way out of date with dot net and such (had 50 or so outstanding updates waiting). Now after connecting once or twice to a remote session, with above results, 3 out of 4 screenconnect services crash.

ScreenConnect Relay service
ScreenConnect Web Server service
ScreenConnect Session Manager service

Server is 2003 R2 SP2 with all updates as of now.

I was excited to see all the additions to the product, but I'd like to just get it running again at this point.

I ran the install again and chose to perform a repair of the installation. Upon completion of the repair I successfully connected and logged in to a computer, but upon making a second connection the same 3 services crashed.

Same thing as me.
I understand the update is not finalized and its a "caution at your own risk", however it was a must due to needing it to uninstall from our clients.

This version is not compatible with 2003 Server. I have spent so many wasted hours all to find its the software and nothing to do with our hardware or configurations.
We had tons of clients on our unattended that needed to be managed and uninstalled and could not w/out upgrading.
Now we upgrade and we lose all of our connectivity to the server and cannot assist our customers. Now it appears we have lost all of our Unattended clients and custom configurations and appearance while trying to repair the issue.

Massively disappointed in the company for such poor design and lack of testing.
All it would have took was a simple install on a Server 03 machine and issue would have been known. Nothing magic has to happen, just install 2.4 fresh or upgraded.
I have tested this on 3 different servers, old and new OS Install, domain or no domain.

Very lucky I am not within my 30-day window to get our money back.
The saying in life is so TRUE! "You get what you pay for"

And wtf is the support? I'll bet anyone $10 any day of the week if you call during business hours you get nothing but a recording.

Shame on you! SC Shame on you!

I gotta step in here on this one.

1. Pre-release is just that not fully tested can run into issues. It is posted all over these forums do not use on production because you may run into problems. Remember this company doesn't have to allow you to download pre-release software for this reason alone.....more support calls. But they count on part of the user base to test for them and disclose any problems that arise like yours. So the way I see it, consider it a privilege to be able to use this pre-release software that has added features but with that privilege comes some possible consequences of problems.

2. Support: I would say 50/50 when I call I get someone, but if you leave a message you will get a call back. Most small/medium businesses don't have someone manning the phones 24/7. You can also email support@screenconnect.com to initiate the ticket.

3. Also, just an FYI I have 2.4 running on 2003 R2 with no issues.

I assume this person must be a competitor of SC trying to make bad forums, cause ANYONE here will stand behind SC before most other companys. They are top end engineers and designers building an amazing product for the price. This is a "from the ground up" application. I have seen it a few years ago and compared to today they came a long way. I dont run into many issues with SC. 98% of the time it works 100% of the time. :D

Like bigdessert said there is a label: PRE-RELEASE, means unstable. If you use this in a production environment for large companys then you should ONLY use Stable installs

Thanks SC! Keep up the work.
