All,

We're running SC 2.3.2058.4321 (latest stable) and I'm having a doozy of a time trying to make it so that one of our support groups can create attended sessions without having admin access to the system. It seems straightforward based on the information (and the "Jerry" example) here: http://help.screenconnect.com/INFO-0021.ashx

However, when I grant a user similar rights on our server, there's nothing that the user can do to create a new attended session. I figured I'd cast a wide net and narrow it down from there, but the wide net isn't working either.

I've granted my user the exact rights that the default "Host" role has with no luck. Help?

Did you make sure you are saving the settings. The saving procedure can be a little different at first. You basically have to choose the rights option, then add it. Then when done you have to make sure you hit the save button.

Yeah, I've already been caught by issues with one-too-few clicks. Somehow, it's working now ... don't know what I did differently (looks the same to me), but I'm not gonna complain. I *am* using a domain group instead of a specific user now, but that shouldn't make a difference, should it? I was able to log in when using the user name. Then again, the screen does say "Role Names must match Windows Group Names." Administrator error, anyone? :)

Top of my head I would say maybe the roll was not setup to allow certain levels of access. Or maybe a software update fixed the role permissions for you? Is it working for you now?

Yep. Working fine. Thanks for asking. :)

As I said above, I was expecting to be able to use a specific AD user when the dialog actually says "group". PEBKAC at its finest.
