The Custom Theme Manager extension permits users with Administrator privileges to create and customize new themes. To access the theme manager, enable the extension and select Manage Custom Themes under the Extras dropdown on the Admin page.

Click New and enter a name for the custom theme. Hover over each input for a brief description of which page elements each color applies to. The palette icon next to each color input will toggle a color picker to facilitate customization. You may also manually enter the desired hex color code.

Once you’ve created and saved a new custom theme, you can apply it to your site by navigating to the Appearance tab on the Admin page and clicking “Change” under Visual Theme:

A few things to consider:

  • The manager prevents you from saving a theme with invalid hex color codes (both three and six digit hex codes are permitted)
  • The manager automatically converts three digit hex color codes to six digit codes before saving
  • The manager prevents you from deleting the active theme (i.e. the theme currently applied to the website)
  • The manager will append “-n” to theme names, where n is an integer, if you attempt to duplicate an existing theme’s name

This extension is now available in the Online Extensions Library.
